- Neenu is a person who doesn't think and works for others. People start thinking why he lives like that by exploring his "past" and also by predicting the "future". The message of the movie is to live in the present. The people who live in the past or future waste time by thinking too much. What lies in the present is the truth. Also kushi/happiness can be attained even without Lakshmi/wealth
- A psychological thriller which depicts the fact that "Today is a gift - that's why it's called Present" in an unusual way. It is about a man by name Neenu, who lives in the present. The film takes the audience through a journey of his life by detailing why Neenu lives in the present, by exploring his past and his future - both as seen by different people in Neenu's life. The film also highlights that happiness can be attained by means other than wealth.

This is a sequel to a 16 year old movie made by Upendra himself. This movie is named after himself, which implies that he is a self-styled egoistic man named NAANU (ME). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upendra_%28film%29
What happens after NAANU realizes the reality of life, is showcased in Uppi2. But mind you, this is not it about Uppi2. Uppi2 is a treat to watch. The screenplay is non-linear zig-zag and xyz.. We call this uppi style. It gets you dizzy. It makes you think. It makes NAANU to become NEENU (YOU) and realize life.
Watch it, and understand it to savor it.
IMPORTANT: Just because you haven't seen the 7 wonders of the world, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. In the same way Nolan, Rajamouli,Tarantino, Murugadoss, ManiRatnam etc etc are not only the best directors. Uppigintha ruchiyilla....!! Namaskara _/\_
