I was actually genuinely surprised by this one. While far from great, Marc Hamill's ( no, not that one ) low-budget mi sh-mash genre romp is commendable effort.
The plot of The Wrong Floor cent-res around Danny, a guy who is searching for his missing father. Although it's a little difficult to follow at the start due to the introduction of LOTS of characters, the plot soon starts to fall into place.
The movie starts off well enough, the plot's OK, locations and scenes looks good, there are hobos affected by a drug called Haze that also look OK, but could have done with more makeup, the action and fight scenes are mostly sub-par, as expected, but acceptable considering the limited budget. On the whole, I think there is just one vital ingredient missing - gore - the movie teases us on several occasions, but ultimately doesn't deliver in this respect. I would have been so easy and would have added some extra exploitation charm.
The movie really picks up in the second half. There are some great set pieces and a real sense of momentum.
It feels a little too long overall, but the second half flies by.
This is pretty much a zero budget production. There is bad acting, some questionable dialogue, sub-par camera work and plot holes a plenty, but it's well worth a watch.
